They scan a table, read the menu, customize a dish, and place the order. They can ask for water, cutlery, tissues, the waiter, or the bill without calling across the room. They can see whether the kitchen has the ticket, is cooking, or has finished.
A waiter sees the tables assigned to them, food that is ready to run, and guest requests. They pick up a ready ticket, mark it served, and complete requests. They can close a paid sitting. They cannot close one that is still unpaid, and they do not handle pickup orders.
Kitchen
A queue, not a shout.
The kitchen works the ticket list: start preparing, mark ready, or cancel. Notes and quantities are on the ticket. They do not take payment or manage the floor.
Cashiers
The bill, when it is time.
The cashier records cash, card, or mobile payment on an open bill and can take a partial payment. Paying the bill does not by itself end the sitting. They can close a paid session and send the table to cleaning.
Reception
The door and the handoff.
Reception handles who is coming in, the waitlist, reservations, and pickup handoff. Pickup payment still belongs to the cashier.
Cleaners
The table after the sitting.
When a session is closed, the table is in cleaning. The cleaner finishes that work and the table becomes available for the next guests.
Owners and managers
The whole room.
They run the menu, staff, shifts, branches, hours, and reports, and they can see orders, tables, the kitchen, and the cashier together. They can close a sitting.
