The connected order journey

From the QR scan to a clear table.

One order stays visible to the guest, the kitchen, the waiter, and the cashier. Kitchen progress and payment are two different things.

01

The guest scans the table

Each table has its own address. The menu opens in the phone browser, so there is nothing to install. The guest customizes a dish, adds a note, and places a dine-in order. The bill stays unpaid until the cashier confirms the payment. Pay-later is the normal path, not a missing step.

02

The kitchen takes the ticket

The ticket arrives as Received, with quantities and notes. The kitchen moves it with the same actions as the dashboard: Start preparing, then Mark ready. Ready is a signal for the floor, not a payment.

03

The assigned waiter runs the food

When the ticket is Ready, the waiter assigned to that table picks it up and marks it served at the table. The guest can follow the same stages on their phone: Received, Preparing, Ready, Picked up, Served.

04

The cashier settles the bill

The order can be Served and still Unpaid. The cashier records cash, card, or mobile payment, including a partial payment. A service charge, when the restaurant has set one, is part of the bill. Collecting money does not close the sitting.

05

The sitting ends, then the table is cleaned

Dining means the sitting is still open, even after the bill is paid. The owner, manager, receptionist, waiter, or cashier closes the session. The table then goes to cleaning. After cleaning finishes, the table is available again. Available is the result of that sequence, not a button someone presses. A waiter cannot close a sitting while a bill is still unpaid.

Ordered is also a result, not a button. The table shows Ordered while any order is still open and not served, unless the table is already in cleaning.

06

Pickup is a different handoff

A pickup order is not a table sitting. The receptionist hands the order over, and the cashier collects the payment. Waiters do not run pickup, and a pickup order does not include table service requests.

A request goes to the person already assigned.

The guest asks from the table menu. The request shows as New for the waiter on that table. They acknowledge it, then mark it complete. The same queue is on the manager dashboard, so a request does not live in a separate app.

The home page walks one order from Received to Served, with payment left unpaid until a cashier would collect it.
